For nearly three and a half decades, I have enjoyed residing in Bayberry, and for the last 12 years, I’ve been actively involved with the BCA—the last four-plus years as president. There are very few homeowners associations active in this area and certainly none have the longevity of Bayberry’s. Nor can they compare to what the BCA provides for the community with the activities and events that are free to residents and included in the $5 yearly dues.

The BCA has adapted and changed with social and technological climates over the past few years in a very positive direction. Through its updated and improved website, Bayberrycommunity.org; its Facebook page, email blasts, revamped BCA News, and Nextdoor Bayberry, we have tried to keep residents up to date on issues in Bayberry. My hope is that this organization is able to continue to provide these activities for its residents.

I want to thank all the residents/neighbors/friends who have participated with the BCA and helped it move forward, certainly too many to mention! I have met a lot of great people and I’m extremely fortunate for that. Like most recent outgoing presidents, I will assist the incoming president, Tim Scott, with the full spectrum of tools he needs and to focus on the great things about Bayberry and looking ahead to its future by learning and not focusing on its past.

I am remaining active with the BCA as Town Affairs chair, Picnic chair and Santa Visit co-chair and am always looking for some help! Have an awesome summer and see you all Aug. 5 at the picnic!
